Gas springs are mounted on large diameter interior/exterior airlock doors (usually Ø400). They make lifting the doors easier for the operator. After years of operation, it may be necessary to replace the part. The wear and replacement frequency of a gas spring varies depending on the use of the glove box (corrosive atmosphere, atmosphere loaded with powders, etc.).
