Lunar samples from the Chinese Chang’e 5 mission to the Moon in December 2020 have been given to the French scientific community.
The 1.5 gram samples, which are essential for science and knowledge, have been transferred to the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, where they are secured in a glove box under a controlled atmosphere and preserved in the best possible conditions in a reference collection of geology, mineralogy and meteorites.
